
The Elementary Library conducted an engaging activity entitled “Information Hunting Featuring Newspaper” last September 9 and 10, 2025, with Grades 1–6 pupils as participants. The activity was designed to make learning fun while helping pupils discover the value of newspapers as a source of knowledge. The activity was facilitated by the BLIS Interns from CSU-Carig Campus under the guidance of Mrs. Jennelyn D. Asuncion and Mrs. Olivia L. Yadao.
The objectives of the activity were:
To enhance pupils’ skills in locating information from newspapers.
To develop awareness of current events and their importance.
To promote critical thinking and information literacy.

Overall, the activity was successful in meeting its objectives. The pupils not only practiced their information-hunting skills but also gained a deeper appreciation of the importance of being aware of current events. It was a meaningful experience that promoted both critical thinking and information literacy in a simple yet enjoyable way.
Based on the evaluation conducted, the participants rated the activity as STRONGLY AGREE (3.55), showing that they found the activity relevant, fun, and beneficial to their learning.
